Day 203 - Holding Smoke

Dreams, memories, hopes and ambitions.
Some will never be more than smoke, drifting and swirling without any tangible form. Lingering elusively on the edge of our consciousness.
Some were once held before evaporating into wisps of smoke and drifting through our fingers.
Some have yet to take shape and solidify.

‘Doesn’t it seem to you, asked Madame Bovary, that the mind moves more freely in the presence of that boundless expanse, that the sight of it elevates the soul and gives rise to thoughts of the infinite and the ideal?’ ~Gustave Flaubert, Madame Bovary

‘This is the seashore. Neither land nor sea. It’s a place that does not exist.’ ~Ocean Sea Alessandro Baricco
