It is September and close to the end of another year for me.  And what an incredible year it has been…

I have traveled to far flung places.
Seen, heard and felt things that will have forever changed me.

I have lived fully.  The meaning, the moments and the memories.

I have felt deeply.  The wonder, the awe, the overwhelming passion for love and for life

I have loved completely.  With my heart and with my soul.

I have enjoyed simply.  With my toes in the water, my sights set on sunrise and sunset.

Another year marker will soon be here.  If change helps us to grow, then I am open to all the growth that my next year on this earth has in store for me.

As August starts to get into full swing, I am still longing for the absent sunshine.

Memories of my short break to Porto a while ago fill my head as I crave the sun on my skin.

I took this picture on the way back to our hotel at sunset, after a full day spent walking, talking, enjoying sun, sea and sangria, exploring the world around us and our love for each other.

The tide was out as we took the long way back to our hotel.  The beautiful bridge that spans the river was ahead of us, the beach behind us and we strolled along the river.  We were looking forward to another walk through the beautiful Crystal Palace Gardens before nightfall finally came.

Looking at this picture I remember the moment so clearly.  I should take more pictures…

Day 289 - Pre-Dawn

A time when thoughts and feelings collide.

Before the sun rises on a new day, the heart and mind steal moments to meander through memories. The ones that hide from daylight.

And neither sleep nor dawn will come when called.

Day 283 - Sunset in a Bottle

I recently heard Jim Croce singing Time in a Bottle on the radio, for the first time in a long time. Beautiful lyrics.

There are lots of things I’d like to save in a bottle, to keep safe, take out and experience all over again.

The smiles of my children through the ages. Sunsets and dramatic skies. Those head-over-heels in love moments. Time. Giggles. Cuddles and hugs. Purple. Precious moments with ones we’ve lost. The way hospitals used to smell. A rainbow. The first movements of a child inside me. Love. So much more…

Here are the lyrics to the Jim Croce song…

If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I’d like to do
Is to save every day
Till Eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you

If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I’d save every day like a treasure and then,
Again, I would spend them with you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I’ve looked around enough to know
That you’re the one I want to go
Through time with

If I had a box just for wishes
And dreams that had never come true
The box would be empty
Except for the memory
Of how they were answered by you

But there never seems to be enough time
To do the things you want to do
Once you find them
I’ve looked around enough to know
That you’re the one I want to go
Through time with

Day 272 - Balloon Related Incidents.

This picture reminded me of a purple balloon related incident last year, and made me smile.

When I think about it, balloons have been involved in a few incidents that have made me smile.

Day 203 - Holding Smoke

Dreams, memories, hopes and ambitions.
Some will never be more than smoke, drifting and swirling without any tangible form. Lingering elusively on the edge of our consciousness.
Some were once held before evaporating into wisps of smoke and drifting through our fingers.
Some have yet to take shape and solidify.
Drifting smoke.

Day 179 - Beyond the Bridge

A giant skip, umpteen trips to charity shops, a not-too-big pile of can’t-let-go’s, some smiles, some tears, and many memories. Today I crossed another bridge.
